What is MatchMaker?
- Matchmaker is a messaging system built into Dockbot that lets you exchange real-time war declaration announcements with other closely ranked teams in order to increase the probability of getting premium matchups.
What MM is not:
- MM is not a declare scheduling system.
- MM does not provide queuing.
- MM is not meant for streaker teams. Its purpose is to seek matchups, not to avoid matchups.
How to use it:
- When your team is ready to start a new war, tell it to the bot by saying "match us XX", where XX is your current rank
- The bot will then put you on the declare roster and you will start receiving declare notifications from other teams
- You can view the roster by using "listmatch" command.
- by default, the notification range is set to +/- 25 from your own rank. You can narrow it down by using "match range XX" command: e.g. if your own rank is 100, "match range 10" will let you send and receive notifications to/from teams in the 90..110 range.
- You may then declare whenever you receive a declare notification from any other team.
- Tell the bot that you've declared by saying "declaring XX" or "declared XX" immediately before or after declaring in the game. This will send declare notifications to other teams within your match range and update the declare roster.
- As soon as the war starts in the game, tell the bot about it by using the "at war with ..." command, as usual. This removes your team from the declare roster and stops notifications.
- When you're ready for the next war, go back to step 1.
Notes:
- MM resets after every war. To continue receiving notifications, you must update your rank with "matchus XX" after each war!
- You don't have to use Matchmaker if you don't want to.
- You do not have to declare if you don't like the team you received a notification from.
- Likewise, there is no guarantee that other teams will declare after receiving your declare notification.
- MM is an experimental feature/work in progress and is likely to change in the future.
